Class Four

Class 4 Summer term 2010

As usual, this term is a very busy one for Class 4.

This week
Four of Class 4 are taking part in the next round of the Nature Quiz at Deerhurst and Apperley School.
Two boys are in the final of the K*Nex challenge.
8 Year 5 pupils are involved in the Ledbury Tag Rugby Festival.
We wish all the participants in these events the very best of luck.

SATS
Year 6 pupils are busily preparing for their SATS which take place in the middle of May

Topic
We are studying a unit of work called ‘What’s on your plate and how did it get there?’ during which time we will be investigating the financial and economic costs of the food we eat, finding out more about local food producers and creating meals using local produce. Mo Braham from Over Farm is visiting to give a workshop about food miles.
Our Class trip will be to the Mousetrap Cheese Factory in Leominster and Weston’s cider, to witness food and drink production and sales on a large scale.
We will be cooking and baking, creating our own picnics to be enjoyed on a walk towards the end of term.

Clarinet lessons
Gloucestershire County Music Service are providing whole class clarinet tuition for Class 4 every Tuesday afternoon for 10 weeks. We will be working towards a short performance of our skills later in the term.

PGL
Great excitement is in the air with the forthcoming annual trip to PGL due in June.

End of Term Performance
Two professional actors are coming to work with Class 4 to produce a summer pantomime, complete with singing, dancing and dames!
