Marquees – Hire and Use
At spring time parents are asked to help with erecting our two 12m x 6m marquees at the school. As a practice for the Barn Dance, we have created our own set of moves called 'A bit to the left....No a bit to the right' as a dozen parents try to position the two marquees side by side, at what has become our very own 'parent team building' event!. After a few hours hard work and weather permitting the day is usually finished off with a BBQ for the parents and children involved.
The marquees are used by the school for outdoor lessons in the summer term as well as other activities and visits by performing artists. The marquees also provide an excellent venue for our fundraising events. Marquee dismantling takes place at the end of the school year.
The marquee sub-committee members are responsible for looking after the two marquees and party tent. The marquee sub-committee also ensure that prior to an event the marquees are made ready for use, take bookings for hire and ensure the marquees are safely returned after an off-site hire.
The marquees are usually available for hire off school grounds from July through to May. May to July they are in use at the school, but can be hired out of school hours for parties.
The PTFA have raised thousands of pounds from the events held in the marquees and hiring out.
